Climate Action Cobenefits – a toolkit for local authorities

In 2019, CAG was commissioned by Ashden to provide support on the development of a new Climate Action Cobenefits toolkit for local authorities.

Ashden, with CAG’s support, developed this toolkit in collaboration with their City Region Sustainability Network, to support local authorities and others on their climate change ambitions.  The toolkit demonstrates how action on climate change can deliver many local benefits, including improved health, increased equity and social cohesion, economic opportunities and increased resilience.

Each of the co-benefits chapters includes facts and figures, links to data for local areas, the business case for taking action, opportunities for action and inspirational examples of successful initiatives from around the country. There are also some videos which bring these concepts to life. Using the buttons below, you can download individual sections, or the entire toolkit.  We plan to update the toolkit regularly and would love your feedback; please click on the link at the bottom of the page to let us know what you’d like to see included in the next update.

The first edition of the toolkit was launched by Ashden and the Grantham Institute at Imperial College on 20 June 2019.  The toolkit can be accessed here.
