CAG regularly undertake employment and population forecasts to inform Transport for London’s (TfL) transport forecasts. These forecasts are in turn used to inform the Mayor’s London Plan and Transport Strategy.
The latest round of projections forecast population and employment for over 800 transport zones in London up to 2050. The projections are based on population and employment projections produced by the GLA and convert these into projections at a much smaller spatial scale using a combination of structural trends and development data.
One of the inputs to this is the London Employment Sites Database. This is a database of proposed development of office, industrial and other forms of commercial development that was also prepared by CAG for the GLA.
CAG’s combination of economic expertise and planning knowledge enables it to produce robust forecasts at small spatial scales.
