Spatial planning has a vital role to play in minimising our carbon emissions. The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is championing this role of spatial and strategic planning in responding to the climate crisis. As part of their climate change research programme, they commissioned CAG Consultants to produce an index of climate change tools that can be used to inform planners in their decision about emissions reduction and adaptation measures.
To ensure that we included all the appropriate tools, we undertook a desk review and interviewed a number of key stakeholders to find out which tools they are aware of; how useful they have found them to be; and any pros or cons of particular tools.
The tool is now live on RTPI’s Learn website.
